Vertical scalding tunnel for pork
Machine designed for heating animals by spraying them with high-temperature water.
This treatment aims to open the pores of the animal’s skin, making the hair removal process easier.
The machine consists of a stainless steel AISI-304 tank, closed with insulation panels. These panels are arranged so that the pig, hanging from the conveyor, passes through the interior. Along the path, the tank has showers at different heights to wet the animal all around.
The length of the tunnel depends on production and the type of animal, as the parameters need to ensure a specific dwell time.
The tunnel is equipped with the following elements:
– Pumping system: Pumps circulate water from the tank to the showers. This pumping system includes a safety feature that stops the pumps if the slaughter line conveyor stops.
– Water inlet: Controlled by a pneumatic valve, activated by a level control system.
– Steam system: Water in the tank is heated by direct steam injection, controlled by a proportional valve actuated by a temperature sensor (PT100).
– Drainage: The machine has a manual drain valve. An overflow pipe prevents water from overflowing the tank.
For longer tunnels, the tank can be divided into two or three independent sections, each with its own systems. This setup allows for different water qualities in various sections, reducing water consumption.
Temperature control is managed from the central control panel of the slaughterhouse using a temperature controller. The temperature can be programmed, as it may vary depending on the season or the animal breed.
Technical specifications:
– Construction: Stainless steel AISI-304
– Power: 3 kW per installed pump
– Maximum production: Depends on the length of the tunnel.
